There are a few key bits of information that you will want to take into account before doing so. The biggest is choosing a trigger. Because of the nature of the beast your standard drop in triggers are not going to hold up to the torture the blow back operation is going to dish out.
Blow back operation relies solely on the explosive force to not only send the round downrange but to send the bolt to the rear as well. In addition to the extra force exerted in a pistol caliber carbine the Bolt has extra mass as well. This essentially acts like a giant hammer pounding on the trigger components with every round fired.
This significantly softens the blow felt by internals during firing. So that begs the question what triggers work? Which ones are the best?
Here are the best choices we have found to work for PCC. Armageddon Gear Revolution Trigger. The result is a match-level release that breaks like the proverbial glass rod at about 3. This is the only trigger that did not experience a failure at the Lucas Oil PCC Championship that members of the Tactical Shit shooting team attended a few months back.
Its no surprise as anything that JP makes seems to hit the nail on the head. Like most of their other products this trigger is built with the quality they are known for.
With a crazy-fast reset, nearly nonexistent over-travel, and a smoother, crisper, lighter trigger pull, the RA Advanced Performance Trigger APT helps you fire more quickly and accurately.
The single-stage trigger group is easy to install. According to one of our staff here at tactical shit this trigger has fired thousands of rounds out of a PCC and has not experienced one failure. This does not come as a surprise though as Rise Armament manufactures and assembles in accordance with strict AS aerospace requirements, which are more stringent than standard gun manufacturing requirements.
Additionally All Rise Armament triggers are precision CNC machined from high-grade, heat-treated tool steel and aluminum meaning only strong quality parts are found in these triggers.
Like the S3G, the SD-3G has a shortened pull length and a lightning-quick reset to give it a unique, hybrid trigger pull that is a cross between a traditional two-stage and single-stage trigger while still retaining the safety and robustness of a two-stage combat trigger.
Geissele triggers have ran no matter what I throw them into. Built for durability and a long range of adjustments this would also be a great option for a PCC build! Watch Tactical Shit TV. Listen to Our Podcasts.

Share this Shit:.I cleaned it today with less than rounds down the tube and there is already buildup on the comp. Not to mention that it might be better to tailor a load specifically for my carbine.
I've been pointed towards RMR grain jacketed hollow points. TJ told me today through his FBI girlfriend that he shoots s with 3. Maybe this is the way to go?? And worth the trouble having two powder throws?? Hello: I am shooting 3. Going to try some new powder next week to see if it shoots a little softer and maybe a bit cleaner.
No buildup on a couple of comps I have tried including my own comp. I have tried a couple of different coated bullets in the AR9 and it is smokey and leaves lead and coating in the comp. I really like Tite Group but someone gave me this other powder to try. Hope this helps. Thanks, Eric. If you plan to shoot a lot of PCC then I'd say it's worth it to have two loads. I find myself in the same predicament. Prefer 's for Production. This may be a bit off topic but it fits close enough. I have a brand spanking new pound of Power Pistol.
There doesn't seem to be much load data and what I have found is not very encouraging, just thought I would ask. I will see how it does next week. The recommendation I was given was 4. I just checked all three last Saturday with my chronograph. All three are nice to shoot and pass the popper test: knock down a pepper popper at 50yds. All were also around a ish pf. Also I am using an Xtreme gr RN bullet. I didn't try any on paper at distance but all would work just fine for a club match or better.
I would not be the least bit nervous to have any of them chrono checked at a match.Borgy manotoc wedding
For the Lucas Oil match next year we will up it a little, I saw a few videos of the poker chip targets. A VERY flat trajectory would be desirable in that situation! RMR gr JHP are great bullets, but you will need a very long throat or you will have to load them super short. I see flames in the ports of my brakes on a 16" barrel, even with that light 5. That mess was like concrete, a screwdriver and hammer were the only other things that made a dent. I shoot the gr RMR jacketed round nose with 4.
Loaded to 1.Thought about putting this in the 9mm forum, but since its primarily for my new PCC, here it is. For those who are loading their own or probably just shooting their production stuffwhat bullet weight are you using. With center fire rifle stuff, heavier bullets tend to yield more recoil as well. What are people seeing in their PCCs?
I'll probably be in the pf area I'd imagine, but are you using lighter stuff like s or heavy s? My pistol load works great in my PCC. I'm loading gr Berry's RN on 3. I'm averaging pf with my G34, but haven't checked it with a 16" PCC. Recoil is light and I was able to tamp it down, slightly, with an AR10 spring and buffer.
I'm hearing that the s are actually shooting well in the 16 inchers. I have been using Berrys gr behind 2. Running JP bolt and Capture spring also. I'm using FMJ loaded with 5. Then I'll use some Titegroup.Pouches a6
I started out using my production load, Blue Bullet, 3. I am now using gn Blue Bullet with 2. This load is a lot softer shooting. I have been using my PRD load of 3. Loaded some with 2. Not much a difference, not sure its worth it.
Might try some different powders.Trying to decide on the model I want.Path of exile build
Any feedback is appreciated. I will leave links to the two models below. This model has a 5. This is the lightweight barrel. Upgraded internals. Raptor charging handle. UBR stock. Maybe a little better trigger. If you are looking for Steel Challenge, 5. I ordered mine to JP and get it in less of 2 months. I got the It ran great at the match and has been extremely reliable since then.Luwan zhang (luwan)
No experience with the 5. That setup balanced really well and transitioned fast. This model has Basic JP internals. Basic hogue stock. The If you like the UBR stockwhich I do, and want a lighter front end go with the 5. If you want a lighter stock and the Really you only use it at make ready and unload and show clear so it's one of the least used parts on a JP PCC anyway.
